Description

Vännäs municipality is looking for someone interested in the work of the rescue service.

The firefighter's job is to prevent, save, and limit damage to life, the environment, and property. You will be an important resource for the community and an asset to the safety work at your workplace.

Being a part-time firefighter means that you have another main employment but are on standby as a firefighter according to a special schedule, currently every fourth week. You must be available around the clock to step into your role "when the alarm goes off".

As a newly hired firefighter, you will be a reserve in a group and step in during standby for illnesses and absences. You will also participate in ongoing training and exercises that occur regularly within the corps.

Qualifications

You are interested in the work of the rescue service and:

• Are prepared to complete the prescribed training plan.
• Preparatory training, about 10 working days in Vännäs or Umeå.
• Basic training for rescue service personnel on standby - Grib, 6 weeks.
• Have your residence and regular work in Vännäs so you can reach the fire station within 5 minutes.
• Have good fitness and health and pass work tests at 200W and be able to swim.

Important qualities for this work are flexibility, teamwork ability, and the ability to build good relationships with others. You should be able to work independently but also have a strong ability to work together with others in a team. A driving license (B) is a requirement, as is access to your own car.

It is desirable to have a driving license class C.

The firefighting profession is male-dominated, and we welcome female applicants.
